June 2016 Dividend Income Update

It's time for my June dividend update! What a great month it was for me in terms of dividend income. I actually had my highest dividend total ever this month coming in at $389.03 so I'm closing in on that $400 mark! My monthly average has now also crossed over the $350 mark for the first time ever. June tends to be a pretty strong month for us dividend investors because of the great selection of companies which payout this month. It's not surprising that so many of us had record months.

This month I also received several dividend increases which served to help increase my income even further. You can see my income below.

  2. That's a pretty good amount of money that you did not have to work additional hours to get. It's a pretty awesome concept. I'm quite a bit behind your income, but I set a personal record in June.

    1. That's great news Chris, you gotta start somewhere but seeing progress every quarter is really inspiring no matter what the income number is ultimately. It looks like you have some great dividend stocks already. Keep it up!

    1. That's from Google Sheets and I just took a screenshot of it is all. It's a neat tool, best of all it's free.

    1. It is nice to see progress, if not every month it is usually every quarter between continued contributions and dividend growth. It's a nice combo.

  6. I see that June was a pretty good month for ya CD. I really like your addition of Flowers Foods here. A lot of other great companies there that will continue to help your portfolio grow in the future. I really like the quarterly moving average on your graph. Thanks for sharing!

    1. I've been buying Flowers Foods pretty heavily after the big drop last year. I did read your article as well the very next day after I purchased (I got a nice little dose of confirmation bias there hehe). I have a full position now though so I may have to put it on the back burner.

It's interesting to note that Hostess is set to go public again, it was a bit of a blessing for Flowers to get some of those Hostess brands back when they first went under. Those brands are going to serve FLO well going forward. Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Looks like a new high watermark for ya Captain! I actually picked up 200 shares of FLO to write calls against after you brought it to my attention with your last post.

    1. Awesome hopefully that goes well for ya. I never had the guts to delve too deep in to options myself. Sometimes I wish I understood it better, other times I'm glad I don't so I won't get involved with it. Thanks

    2. Haha fair enough. I'm super interested because I've seen some studies that suggest you can squeek out a few extra % over normal returns with just monthly call options. Over long time frames, that's huge if true.

  9. Great job Captain! It's always a great thing to set new personal bests. And that $350 per month average is looking solid too. All the best in the second half of the year.

    1. I haven't set any goals but I wonder if I could hit the $400 by the end of the year. That would be something! Cheers!

  11. Great job with that passive income earned. Closing in on another milestone figure is always exciting. Keep sticking with those quality purchases and watch those dividend raises continue to crank out and every increasing passive income stream. Nice to see a few names in common too. Thanks for sharing.
