Recent Buys From Fellow Dividend Investors

I follow or at least visit many other dividend growth investing blogs like mine. You can find many of them in my blogroll. Occasionally I will compile these purchases and see if any patterns appear. This time around I tracked recent purchases from 18 other dividend growth investors for the month of May. There were 54 total purchases made and I have omitted stocks with only a single purchase. You can see the results below.

It's interesting that many of the names that appeared on my last list are gone which may indicate that those stocks may not look as attractive as they were in March. Names like McDonalds (MCD) and Phillip Morris (PM) have been replaced with new stocks like Clorox (CLX) and Target (TGT). One of the new names to appear on the list for the first time is American Reality Capital Properties (ARCP) which was purchased by several bloggers including Dividend Hawk, FF Dividend and My Dividend Pipeline. ARCP is one of those names that has been on my watch list ever since I read about it on Dividend Mantra's website. Another big name this month was Aflac (AFL) which DivHut, Accumulating Assets, Dividend & Whisky, and A Frugal Family's Journey all liked.

Full Disclosure: I currently own shares of KMI, MCD, PG, and CLX.

  1. Interesting list to read. Not surprisingly TGT and ARCP are on the top of my list to dive deeper into this week. So many fellow dividend investors can't be wrong can they ;-).

What is on your watch list for this month?

    Best,

  6. Very interesting research, keep them coming. It just shows that every month is like a wave of discounted stocks to pick from and capitalize from.

  10. Captain,

Cool list! I think these charts usually show you stocks that are typically discounted from the market due to our value shopping as a collective. Good stuff! :)

Looking forward to what June's chart will look like!!

    Best wishes.

  11. Captain, good list and thanks for compiling. Interesting to see where other DGI's are seeing value in today's market. Based on the gains MCD and PM have seen since March, the community was right about those 2.

    cheers,

    1. Your right about that, wow those two really took off. I think people were really seeing some value after both of those stocks were under some big selling pressure in February.

  12. Captain,
I am a regular reader of you blog and I also started focusing on dividend growth investing after going through your and few other similar blogs. You all keep me inspired to keep focus on consistent dividend investing.
ARCP and TGT are two stocks that I also purchased in the month of May. So you can add that to in your chart :)
PG and CLX are couple of stocks that I am looking to invest in.

  13. Thanks for putting this list together. It is always nice to see what stocks others in the community are purchasing. ARCP was a very interesting stock this month considering all of the press surrounding the company. I considered increasing my position in the stock before investing in HCP. I wanted to add a more-stable healthcare REIT to compliment ARCP's position in my portfolio. However, it is not surprising to see five different individuals initiate positions.

Thanks again for sharing. I really like the concept of the article. Keep up the great work.
